Our Mission

MOUSE Squad of California's mission is to empower underserved youth, grades 4 - 12, to learn, lead, create and collaborate with technology, preparing them with skills essential for their academic and career success. The MOUSE Squad of California (MSCA) program prepares students to become digital media and technology experts, providing access to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education. MSCA strives to improve the use of technology to enhance learning for our students, while also building confidence and developing skills for 21st century innovation.

MOUSE Squad of California (MSCA) believes every child should be connected to:

  • learning
  • innovation
  • self-esteem
  • job skills
  • life skills
  • community
  • teammates
  • leadership opportunities
MSCA seeks to:

  • Enhance technology literacy and STEM education through an interactive online curriculum and relevant hands-on activities.
  • Develop students' skills in communication, leadership, teamwork, and problem solving through collaborative learning activities and the practical application of those skills.

Community

Community Connections Our unique corporate and community partnerships enable our students to interact with tech industry volunteer-mentors. Over half our schools have mentors engaging with students weekly, teaching them how technology can be applied professionally and inspiring them to pursue a future in STEM.

MSCA also provides students with field trip opportunities to our corporate partners’ locations, such as Electronic Arts (EA), Cisco, Intel, SAP Labs, and The Computer History Museum, among others. These enrichment visits enable students to understand how their MOUSE Squad skills can be used in the real world.

Our corporate and community partners often visit our school sites to interact with MOUSE Squad students while they demonstrate their tech projects, thus further strengthening the student-school-community bonds.
