September MicroProject Winners!
Hey there Squad members! It’s time to announce this school year's first MicroProject Winners! LAST MONTH’S Challenge was to create a logo for your Mouse Squad that would convey the uniqueness of your squad in a simple design. We had some really cool submissions this month. Take a look at this month's winners!
Our Grand Prize
A $60 Best Buy gift card goes to Guillermo of the Digi-Sharks Squad in New York, New York. We absolutely loved that his design incorporated a MacBook and breadboard, evidence of the Squad's experience with troubleshooting and tinkering in Garage Robotics!
Our First Runner Up
Winner of the runner up award for a Papertronics Lunar Module is the Cesar Chavez Proud Eagles Squad in East Palo Alto, California. Their logo depicts an eagle grasping the Mouse logo in its talons! Very clever.
Our Second Runner Up
Also receiving a Papertronics Lunar Module is Tech Guy from CHIPS Mouse Squad in San Lorenzo, California. Tech Guy even copyrighted the Squad name in the fine print!
Thank you to Coordinators and students who participated and submitted projects! Special shout out to the Nerdy Bulldogs Squad from Queens, New York. They customized the Mouse logo and created a sharp looking avatar!
It's always such a difficult decision voting on submissions and awarding these prizes. We are looking forward to seeing many more unique logos on all of your squad pages in the future.
Be sure to check out our October MicroProject: Enter the 3rd dimension!
There couldn't be a better segue from the September to October MicoProject competitions, but to show you how the Halsey Squad in Queens, New York first designed a 3D logo:
And then printed it out on their own MakerBot Thing-O-Matic 3D printer!
This is a great example of what YOU could do for your October MicroProject submission! So get started on your 3D designs!
