RE-WIND... 2nd Annual Emoti-Con (0.0) Wins!
On Saturday, June 19th, Mouse Corps and Mouse Squad members joined students from across the five boroughs at the New York Public Library's Bartos Forum to rock out at the second annual Emoti-Con: NYC's premiere Youth Media & Technology Festival.
Emoti-Con was founded through the combined the efforts of Mouse, Global Kids, New York Public Library and Parsons Academy to showcase digital media and computing projects produced by youth.
The event was attended by over 100 youth producing great work like the 'Serious Game' by Dhondup, Kim, Hanna and Qiuxiao from International High School called Immigrant-ville:
Also among the amazing projects represented was Psych-It! a digital "Magic 8-Ball" telling fortunes with the push of a button. Stephanie Semidey's Squad from Hunt's Point created Psych-It! using the Mouse Garage Robotics curriculum, programming a microprocessor to activate random LED lights:
Throughout the day, Emoti-Con attendees heard from the pros in digital media Joe Saavedra, a design guru at Parsons; Nina Frenkel, a digital animator and Giff Constable, digital entrepreneur.
