Level Up Teen Game Jam!
Sunday, Feb. 17th from noon-5pm AND Monday, Feb. 18th from 11-4:30 at Museum of the Moving Image (participation on both days is requested)
This is a two-day event where teens will:
- Rub elbows with professional game designers
- Play indie and vintage video games
- Make your own games
- Earn digital badges to mark the achievement of new skills
This event is being held in conjunction with IndieCade East, the premiere East Coast showcase of independently produced video games, and the 2013 STEM Video Challenge, a national competition featuring youth-made video games.
The first day is about exploration and inspiration - youth gain access to IndieCade East (festival of independent games) and a special tour of the Spacewar! exhibit. On the second day, they dive into game design with Institute of Play, Global Kids, E-Line Media (STEM Video Game Challenge) and Mozilla Game On.
