Nov. UnPlugged Event Recap: Podcasting with the LAMP!
What would you say to the world if given the chance? MOUSE Squad students had the opportunity to answer this question at the podcast UnPlugged Event series on November 16th, 17th and 18th. Students from across New York City met up at the Lower East Side Preparatory school in Manhattan to complete a series of audio PSA podcasts as part of a workshop with The LAMP.
Participants created podcasts that dealt with serious issues like unhealthy eating, depression, cyber-bullying and following your dreams. Two groups from Lower East Side Prep event translated their podcasts into both English and Chinese to reach a wider audience! Behold the power of sound!

Let's check out how we made these!
Day 1: Students learned about what a Podcast and PSA are, analyzed examples of famous PSAs and started planning their own message.
Day 2: After finishing their plans, everyone grabbed a microphone and started recording their project. Check out the cool equipment we used!
Day 3: We uploaded our recordings to computers and edited the projects together using GarageBand.
