On Saturday June 27th, 2009 MOUSE in collaboration with Global Kids, New York Public Library,PetLab, and the Parsons New School for Design held the first annual (o.o) Digital Youth Technology and Media Festival. The festival was created to showcase projects done by students from around the city and expose them to professionals from technology and media. As well as create new opportunities for our students to meet other MOUSE Squad students and network with students from other organizations.

The event was held at Parson's and kicked off with youth presentations from each organization. Access High School was chosen to represent MOUSE with their 2nd place DIY Project: Tonight Show with Jay Lego on the topic open source software for schools. These presentations were then followed by the Youth Digital Media & Technology Project Fair where students from each organization talked to the attendees of the event about their projects in gaming, technology and media. MOUSE was represented well by our MOUSE Corps and our first and second place DIY winners Bryant and Access High School.

For our last session of the day we held a professional fair where various professionals from various field's in media and technology had an opportunity to talk with our students 1 on 1. The students were highly engaged and were excited to talk to a Animators, Gaming Entrepreneurs, Comic Book Artist, IT Professionals, Internet Celebrities from companies such as Cartoon Network, CNET, and Kidzbop.

Finally, when the dust settled we opened up the floor with an open mic where inspiring messages from our all participants were shared. From MOUSE, Christian Rodriquez gave a heartfelt shout-out to MOUSE and his brother for his involvement and time with MOUSE. At the end of the day every student was able to network with other, and given a venue to voice their thoughts and goals and showcase their work. It is moments like these that help shape MOUSE students and help guide them throughout their life.
